Where substantive examination is requested together with an invention application, the CNY 2,500 examination fee is paid with the filing fee and no extra service fee is charged. A divisional application counts as a new application, so all official fees (including the CNY 2,500 examination fee for inventions) are paid again in full.
At grant only the annuity for the grant year is due; the registration fee and publication printing fee were abolished on 1 Aug 2018.
English-to-Chinese translation is billed on the word count of the English source (per 1,000 words; Chinese character count is not the basis), while translation review is billed on the Chinese draft (per 1,000 characters); anything short of a full unit is rounded up to one unit.
All amounts are in Chinese yuan (RMB); this quotation is valid until 31 Dec 2026. Actual amounts are governed by the signed engagement contract and the CNIPA fee notice.
